Report from South Africa Organic & Natural Products EXPO

On the weekend of 21-23 October, we at Africa Moringa Hub (AMH Online) had the pleasure of sponsoring and participating in the Organic and Natural Products Expo, which was held in Johannesburg, South Africa.

We had invited Moringa Producers and Suppliers to join us at the West Africa Business Lounge, and promote their moringa products.

We give you a glimpse of the Expo in this video.

AHM’s Rep, Bernadette Wood, shows us around the Expo.

The Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA) is the export trade support institution under Ghana’s Ministry of trade and industry responsible for facilitating the expo.

Many exhibitors are export ready and are currently positioning themselves for it. Many of the exhibitors in this fast-growing organic and natural products sector beckon consumers with an increasing passion for maintaining their health and rejuvenating the planet earth.

We are happy that African Moringa Hub online is a proactive partner in this big event with over 300 exhibitors.

Our Moringa Story

The world may think that Africa is poor and dying. Sadly, in the past, that is how Africa has been portrayed to the western world.

But we know that is not true. (This Organic and Natural Products Expo is proof of that!) We know that Africa has a wealth of untapped resources, and we at Africa Moringa Hub have discovered one of those resources in the Moringa Tree (often called the Miracle Tree).

This tree has been proven by scientists to be the most nutrient rich plant on earth, and for many years it has been growing under our noses and we never realised what it could do.

While many Africans were starving and dying from various diseases, and while little children were suffering from malnutrition, we did not know we had a cure that was freely growing for us.

But we are thankful that our Creator knew what we needed. Long before he had provided this tree that we call the Miracle Tree – truly a gift from God. And we are grateful to those scientists whom he used to untap its nutritional benefits, and to introduce it to places that needed it most, such as Senegal and other West African countries.

It was 13 years ago now that we were first introduced to the Discovery Channel documentary about the Miracle Tree, which got us excited. We could see so much potential. Like a seed that was sown, this knowledge began to grow and spread across the Internet to many in Africa who also caught the vision and began growing it and seeing results in their households and communities.

Then in May 2016, Africa Moringa Hub was founded. Then in January 2018, AMH was officially recognised as an NGO.

How Important Moringa Farmers are to Africa

As we look at the world, and disturbing world events, it is easy for us to become discouraged and deeply concerned about the impact this will have on Africa. There is talk of global food shortage and greater effects on our climate. Drought, floods, earthquakes, war, famine, and you name it, are in the mix. How can Africa survive?

In this article, Mariana Price from South Africa, shares how Moringa Farmers can be the lifeblood of Africa.

Celebrate Moringa – Day 16

Let us celebrate moringa in Uganda. Did you know that moringa was first introduced by the government in Uganda in the late 1990s and early 2000s?

Yes! Back then many farmers got excited about this new and promising cash crop. However, Moringa didn’t bring them the return they were expecting, so most of the farmers rejected moringa, believing it was useless.

However, we thank God that some farmers and entrepreneurs caught the vision. Today we meet one of them, Levi Wakisi, the founder of the Face of Moringa Uganda.

Watch the video to hear his story. The transcript of the video is below.
