On Sunday 22 Nov on Zoom, Mariana continues the moringa conversation with more Moringa lovers. First up is Margaret Russell from Liberia. Margaret started her Moringa journey in 2010 under a group called Sustainable Agriculture for Rural Development Initiatives (SARDI) now Sustainable Agriculture and Development SA&D, and joined Africa Moringa Hub in 2017. Next we have a special guest from India, an incredible Moringa woman, Ponnarasi from Tamil Nandu Dindigul District. She is known for her Moringa products especially her Moringa soaps. She works with her family and neighbours in Moringa and other health products. Her product is called Arasi Moringa.

Today we chatted to Barry Murphy from his moringa nursery in Florida, USA, where he has been focusing on moringa growing and promoting awareness for the past 2 years. The nursery supplies moringa plants to locals to grow on their properties or in their yards. They have formed a cooperative where the leaves are harvested and processed, and given back to the community. Empowering Women through Moringa – Noriah from Malawi and Sakale from Mali

On Sunday, 22 Nov on Zoom, Mariana chatted with 2 ladies who run moringa projects which are empowering women in Africa. Firstly we have Noriah Tada KatunÄ£we from Malawi, whom we caught while she was driving. She shares about the social enterprise that she heads called “Living Green Ventures”, which has a business arm called “Nutri Products”. Later in the video, Sakale Sakale Traore from Mali joins us and shares about their enterprise called Mamali Moringa. They are producing moringa products including tea and Moringa leaf powder.

On our visit to Burkina Faso in January, we drove to Roumtenga (13 km from Ouagadougou), to meet with Pr Batiedo Christian Elie of Grace ET Merveille.  He and his family have been involved with Moringa for over a decade and have 8 products to their credit. Not only is he a pastor, but also a trainer, farmer and processor. He showed us his new farm that he started on 15 July 2019.
